Inspiration A pen drawing depicting the reflection of St Paul’s Cathedral in the window of a modern office building across the road.
I have always been fascinated by reflections, and by the way something new can temporarily merge with something old in a way that is not always immediately clear. The natural distortion of the reflection creates a tension between the historic building and the modern architecture, revealing a subtle sense of disunity within our environment.
Through this drawing, I am interested in the way reflections can bring two contrasting structures together, creating something that exists only temporarily and cannot be fully defined as either the old or the new.
